Professional Experience
Mr. Vitale has over 30 years of analytical quality assurance experience.  As the founder and a Principal of Environmental Standards and Vitale Scientific Associates, Mr. Vitale oversees a staff of approximately 30 quality assurance chemists and is responsible for the direction of the technical and managerial aspects of the company’s operations.  Mr. Vitale is a recognized expert in the following fields: organic and inorganic data validation (including specialty analyses); laboratory auditing; preparation or third-party review of quality assurance project plans (QAPjPs); design of specialty analyses to accommodate project-specific data quality objectives (DQOs); quality assurance oversight of complex projects; and agency negotiations.

Mr. Vitale previously served as the Quality Assurance Manager for a consulting firm with 26 offices nationwide.

Mr. Vitale is a Certified Professional Chemist through the American Institute of Chemists and a Certified Environmental Analytical Chemist through the National Registry of Certified Chemists.

Mr. Vitale is a member of the American Chemical Society; American Industrial Hygiene Association; American Institute of Chemists; Royal Society of Chemistry; Royal Australian Chemical Institute; American Water Works Association; American Society of Testing and Materials; American Society of Quality Control; International Society of Environmental Forensics; and Society of Toxicology and Chemistry.

Board Positions
Appointed Federal Advisory Committee Board – Environmental Laboratory Advisory (ELAB) (2004 – current); American Institute of Chemists (1997-2002, 2007 – present); National Registry for Certified Chemists (July 2001 – December 2009).

Mr. Vitale received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science and Biology from Marist College in 1981.  He completed additional post-graduate Chemistry courses at Villanova University and Rider College (1982-1985) and Chemistry Graduate Course Work at Villanova University (1985 – 1988).
